‘I might have beaten him up’: Amit Tandon weighs in on Udit Narayan’s kissing controversy, calls Aditya Narayan ‘unprofessional, spoilt’ | Music News

Veteran playback singer Udit Narayan faced a fair share of brickbats when videos of him kissing his female fans went viral on social media. Although Udit brushed it off saying it was just an expression of his love for his fans and a reflection of his pure heart, the issue became quite a contentious topic with many pointing out that there needs to be a sense of decorum when it comes to receiving the love of the fans. Singer and actor Amit Tandon, in a recent interview to Filmymantra Media, stressed home the importance of self-restraint and boundaries.

“Someone tried to reel him in, and he took the bait,” said Amit, who said it was just the action of a ‘h**ny old man’ who just went with the flow without realising the repercussions of his actions. “See, fans want to get close to you, but it is upto each individual to decide their own limits.”

In fact, Amit went one step further and said that things could have gotten really ugly if such a pass was made at his partner. “If the person being kissed was the wife or girlfriend of a person like me, then a sound thrashing would have been in order,” said Amit, who pointed out that he still respected Udit Narayan for his singing abilities. “The situation might have been different, but we must have our own limitations. See, there are many good-looking singers like Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, and they might have faced such situations. I also know my limit.”

Continuing this tirade against Udit Narayan’s kissing controversy, Amit said, “What if the husband of the lady was there? Things could have taken an ugly turn. Also, it is not this fear that should stop anyone from doing such things, but just have your own limits.”

When asked about the antics of Udit Narayan‘s son Aditya, who is infamous for incidents like throwing the mic during a concert, Amit labelled all of it as just ‘unprofessional.’ He said, “I have no qualms in saying that it was unprofessional and a reflection of a spoilt attitude. Of course, I don’t know him personally, and he might just be a good person. But from the visuals that are doing the rounds, I think it is a very ‘bigda hua’ attitude.”

Amit also played the devil’s advocate and said that Aditya could have been provoked in that clip, and probably there was more to it than just what we saw in a 10-second clip. However, Amit was back with his fixation on personal limits, and said, “You shouldn’t be doing such things and there must be a certain limit to how you express, and that’s very important, especially as a celebrity.”
