Imtiaz Ali questions burqa and parda practice
Speaking candidly on the subject with Samdish Bhatia on his show Unfiltered by Samdish, Imtiaz clarified that his comments were not aimed at any particular religion. Instead, he said he was raising broader questions about societal practices that limit women’s visibility and participation in public life. According to the filmmaker, the issue goes beyond clothing and concerns the larger idea of freedom and equal opportunity.
