The film revolves around the complex world of duty, power, and personal sacrifice. Saif Ali Khan plays Pawan Malik, a determined police officer whose life spirals into chaos after a journalist is shot while under his protection. As pressure mounts from senior officials and the media, Pawan is forced to answer difficult questions while trying to uncover the truth behind the incident. What begins as a professional challenge soon turns into a dangerous manhunt filled with secrets and political influence.
As the investigation deepens, Pawan discovers a web of lies, betrayal and powerful people pulling strings behind the scenes. At the same time, his personal life starts falling apart as his family faces threats due to an issue connected to his brother. The trailer also highlights the emotional side of the character, portraying him as a devoted Mahadev follower who is caught between staying true to his oath as a police officer and protecting the people he loves the most. The intense action sequences and emotional moments hint at a layered thriller packed with suspense and drama.

Directed by Pulkit and backed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Kartavya boasts a strong supporting cast featuring Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari and Saurabh Dwivedi in key roles.
