I would wish to clarify that the statement I had made in relation to @iamnagarjuna Garu was not intended to hurt Nagarjuna Garu or his family members.
I had no intention of hurting or defaming Akkineni Nagarjuna Garu or his family members.
I regret any unintended impression…

‘Not intended to hurt Nagarjuna’
In her clarification, Konda Surekha reiterated that her earlier comments were not intended to hurt Nagarjuna or his family members. She expressed regret for any unintentional impression created by her statements in relation to the actor and his family, and withdrew her remarks. The minister took to X and posted, “I would wish to clarify that the statement I had made in relation to @iamnagarjuna Garu was not intended to hurt Nagarjuna Garu or his family members. I had no intention of hurting or defaming Akkineni Nagarjuna Garu or his family members. I regret any unintended impression given in my statements in relation to them and withdraw the same.”
Her explanation comes almost a year after the case was filed by Nagarjuna. During the trial, Nag and his family members appeared in the court at Manoranjan Complex and have even recorded their statements. Nag, who is the complainant, was examined as prosecution witness No. 1. The court also marked 14 exhibits submitted by the prosecution including video footage (clips of news channels) presented as evidence.

Nag filed the defamation
During a Gandhi Jayanthi programme at Bapu Ghat, last year, in an attempt to settle scores with former Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR), Konda Surekha alleged that KTR was the reason behind Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. Nagarjuna had filed the defamation complaint against Surekha on Oct 3, 2024, under section 356 (defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The actor alleged that Surekha made defamatory remarks against him and his family that tarnished their reputation and public image.
