Spain takes on Belgium in the FIFA World Cup quarterfinal at Los Angeles Stadium.
While La Roja are coming into the clash with an impressive defensive record of not conceding a single goal in the tournament so far, their attacking threat is expected to rely heavily on young star Lamine Yamal.
And it appears the 18-year-old forward already has someone special cheering and praying for him as kickoff approaches.
Yamal’s girlfriend cheers from the stand
Yamal is reportedly dating Spanish influencer Inés García, who took to social media ahead of Spain’s quarterfinal against Belgium to show her support for her boyfriend.
A few hours before kickoff, she shared a picture of herself with her hands joined in prayer, seemingly a snap from one of the earlier World Cup matches she attended. She also added emojis suggesting she was praying for the best for both Yamal and La Roja.
Just minutes before the match began, she posted another photo on her Instagram Story showing herself wearing Spain’s red jersey with Yamal’s No. 19 on the back, as she looked fully behind both her boyfriend and the Spanish national team.
Birthday celebration together
The 21-year-old influencer has been quite open about cheering for Yamal, sharing multiple posts over the past month featuring herself in the stands wearing the Barcelona star’s jersey.
Moreover, she celebrated her 21st birthday on July 9 in the United States and reportedly spent the occasion with Yamal.
The Barcelona forward also shared an Instagram Story showing the couple enjoying food by the beach, with Garcia leaning on his shoulder.
“Happy 21st! Love you,” he wrote in Spanish, alongside a heart and birthday cake emoji.
Garcia also shared a gift that she described as one of the best she had ever received, which appeared to have been from Yamal.
How they first met
Yamal’s relationships have been a topic of discussion among fans ever since he emerged as one of football’s brightest young stars. The Spain international was previously in a brief relationship with Argentine pop singer Nicki Nicole.
However, a few months after breakup with Nicole, Yamal’s relationship with Inés García began attracting attention.
Garcia is an influencer from Seville, Spain, best known for creating fashion and beauty content across social media. She has amassed nearly one million followers on TikTok and around 900,000 followers on Instagram.
