The 34-year-old Mitchell Marsh made a stunning century during the BBL 2025-26 match played between the Perth Scorchers against Hobart Hurricanes.

His century powered the Scorchers’ 40-run victory against the Hurricanes and cemented a decent spot in the BBL 2025-26 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Perth Scorchers’ Mitchell Marsh and Finn Allen made a decent partnership before the latter lost his wicket to Nathan Ellis.

With Mitchell Owen dismissing Cooper Connolly cheaply, Aaron Hardie joined Marsh to trouble Hurricanes bowlers as the duo stitched a 164-run partnership for the third wicket.

Mitchell Marsh smashed a century and scored 102 runs off 58 deliveries which included 11 fours and 5 sixes.

Meantime, Aaron Hardie also made a fine knock of unbeaten 94* runs off 43 deliveries which includes 9 fours and 5 sixes.

By the end of 20 overs, Perth Scorchers scored 229 runs for 3 wickets setting up a mammoth total for Hurricanes to chase.

Chasing the target, Tim Ward and Mitchell Owen opened the innings while Cooper Connolly opened the bowling attack.

Joel Paris bagged the first breakthrough dismissing Owen for 4 runs, Tim Ward scored 27 runs before being dismissed by Agar.

With the dismissal of Wright and McDermott, Hurricanes lost four wickets for 70 runs.

Nikhil Chaudhar and Matthew Wade did show some intent in the middle overs. However, their dismissals put Hurricanes in trouble and low order batters could not bring required runs to the board.

By the end of 20 overs, Hobart Hurricanes scored only 189 runs and faced a 40 run defeat in the clash.

Ashton Agar picked three wickets while, Joel Paris and Aaron Hardie bagged two wickets each and Cooper Connolly completed his spell with one wicket tally.

Mitchell Marsh was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking on the post match presentation, Marsh said, “This ground has become a very hard ground to win at. So, really important win for us. Two on the bounce now, a bit of momentum to go home. So, great night. We’ve got a well-rounded team. Our more inexperienced bowlers have shown some real growth over this first couple of weeks.”
