While the family was already gearing up for the grand wedding of Nagarjuna’s elder son Naga Chaitanya with actress Sobhita Dhulipala, the veteran actor’s younger son, Akhil Akkineni, announced his engagement to Zainab Ravdjee, making it a double celebration. All this news when the family was already celebrating Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s centenary year.
Now, the veteran star has opened up about his family celebrations. With just a week left for Naga Chaitanya’s wedding on December 4, Nagarjuna told Zoom, “December 4 is around the corner. We are hosting wedding at the Annapurna Studios, the family studio that my father built. We planned it as an intimate ceremony, but even by limiting the guest list, we expect quite a large attendance. We have a large family, so does Sobhita.”
Speaking about Akhil Akkineni’s sudden engagement news, the actor said, “I am so happy for Akhil. His fiancee Zainab is a lovely girl and I am so happy they have decided to spend their lives together.” He added, “But, their wedding will happen in 2025.”
On Tuesday, Akhil Akkineni took to his social media handles to share his engagement news. Unlike his brother, Akhil had a very informal engagement announcement without any traditional ceremony. Sharing photos, the actor wrote, “Found my forever. Happy to announce that Zainab Ravdjee and I are happily engaged.”
Zainab is an artist and art exhibitionist based in Mumbai, but born and brought up in Hyderabad, according to The New Indian Express. The 39-year-old artist is the daughter of industrialist Zulfi Ravdjee.
On Tuesday, Nagarjuna too took to his X handle to share the news. He wrote, “We are thrilled to announce the engagement of our son, @AkhilAkkineni8, to our daughter in law to be Zainab Ravdjee! We couldn’t be happier to welcome Zainab into our family.”
The Akkineni family sans Zainab was recently at the IFFI, Goa, to celebrate the legacy of Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
