Last Updated:

Nearly 20 samples were sent to the state CID’s Fingerprint Bureau, of which 19 did not match with that of the accused.

Actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed by an intruder at his Bandra residence in January.

In a big twist in the Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing case, the chargesheet has revealed that the crucial fingerprint samples collected from inside the actor’s Mumbai flat did not match with that of the accused Shariful Islam.

Nearly 20 samples were sent to the state CID’s Fingerprint Bureau, of which 19 did not match with that of the accused.

According to details in the chargesheet, the fingerprints found on the black bathroom door, the sliding door of the bedroom, and the cupboard door did not match with Shariful. Notably, the only fingerprint that matched with the accused was the one recovered from the eighth floor of the building.

However, Mumbai police sources stated that the chances of fingerprints matching are one in 1000 as several people use and touch objects, which is why the fingerprint match is not foolproof evidence.

(This is a breaking story. More details will be added.)
