Nicole Kidman, 58, has broken her silence on her split from country star Keith Urban, offering a glimpse into her personal and professional life since the separation. In an interview with Variety published March 11, Kidman said, “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good.” She emphasized the importance of family and keeping a sense of normalcy for her daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that,” Kidman added, highlighting her commitment to a harmonious co-parenting approach. She has chosen to refrain from discussing the private details of her divorce out of respect, noting, “Everything else I don’t discuss. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be.”
Balancing Family and Career
Despite a challenging year, Kidman is embracing new professional opportunities. She spoke about her excitement for the Practical Magic sequel alongside Sandra Bullock and her role in the Prime Video series Scarpetta. “Now I’m in a place of saying, ‘2026. Here we go. I have Practical Magic. I’ll be in full witch mode,’” she told Variety.
Kidman also shared her long-term ambitions to return to theater, including potential off-Broadway projects and regional productions. Yet, she stressed that her current focus is on her daughters, planning to fill her summer with family activities. “There are still things I want to do as an actor. But right now is not the time for me to do that; I’ve got to take care of these kids. That’s in my ‘Future’ folder,” she explained.
Kidman and Urban, who married in 2006, finalized their divorce in January 2026, with Kidman granted primary custody of their daughters. Both parents continue to share joint responsibility for major decisions regarding their children, reflecting a cooperative post-divorce relationship.
