Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday in the 129th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat. As the year 2026 approaches, the Prime Minister reflected on key moments from the past year and spoke about events that, he said, brought pride and unity to the country.

PM Modi on Operation Sindoor

Prime Minister Modi said memories of 2025 came rushing back as he delivered the address. He recalled several moments, discussions and achievements that, according to him, brought the nation together. He said the year gave Indians many reasons to feel proud and confident about the country’s direction.

A major focus of the address was Operation Sindoor. Prime Minister Modi described the operation as a symbol of pride for every Indian. He said the world clearly saw that modern India does not compromise on its security.

According to him, the operation reflected the country’s firm stand on national safety and sovereignty. “This year, ‘Operation Sindoor’ became a symbol of pride for every Indian. The world clearly saw that today’s Bharat does not compromise on its security. During ‘Operation Sindoor’, pictures of love and devotion towards Mother India emerged from every corner of the world,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister added that during Operation Sindoor, powerful images of love and devotion towards Mother India emerged from across the world. He said Indians living abroad also expressed strong emotional support, showing unity and commitment to the nation.

150 years of Vande Mataram

Prime Minister Modi linked the spirit seen during Operation Sindoor with other moments of national pride. He referred to the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, saying the same feeling of devotion and patriotism was visible across the country during the India- Pakistan conflict.

He said such moments strengthen national unity and remind citizens of shared values and collective responsibility towards the country.

As he concluded his remarks, the Prime Minister noted that these shared experiences from the past year serve as inspiration for the future. He said the sense of pride, unity and commitment shown by Indians during 2025 would continue to guide the nation as it moves forward into the new year.

Operation Sindoor was India’s military response launched on May 7, 2025, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 civilians.
