Owner booked for culpable homicide


A case of culpable homicide was registered on Sunday against the owner of a three-story building in Lucknow which collapsed a day before, leading to the death of eight persons and injuring 28 others, police said.

Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Amit Verma said a police team is investigating the matter and those responsible will be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formed a three-member committee headed by the Home Secretary to probe the collapse.

On Sunday, CM Adityanath visited the hospital where the injured are being treated.
