Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will begin streaming on Netflix starting March 20, 2026. The film is based on the universe created by Steven Knight and continues the narrative threads established in the television series. At its core, the story explores themes of legacy, psychological trauma and the lingering consequences of past choices that continue to haunt Tommy Shelby.

Storyline

Set in the 1940s during World War II, the film follows an older and more reclusive Tommy Shelby who has stepped away from the empire he once controlled. Living in isolation, he appears determined to leave his violent past behind.

However, circumstances pull him back into the world he tried to escape when his illegitimate son Duke assumes control of the Shelby family business. As tensions rise and fascist forces begin to threaten stability, Tommy finds himself confronting both external enemies and the ghosts of his own past. The film builds toward a climactic battle that forces him to reckon with his legacy and the consequences of the choices that defined his life.

Cast and characters

The film features a strong ensemble cast led by Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby, the calculating leader of the Peaky Blinders. Barry Keoghan plays Erasmus “Duke” Shelby, Tommy’s illegitimate son whose growing influence becomes central to the plot.

The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson as Kaulo and Zelda, Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg, and Sophie Rundle reprising her role as Ada Thorne, née Shelby. Other returning characters include Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs and Ian Peck as Curly, while Jay Lycurgo appears as Elijah.

The team behind the film

The film is directed by Tom Harper, who previously worked on the television series. The screenplay has been written by series creator Steven Knight.

Production duties have been handled by Steven Knight, Cillian Murphy, Guy Heeley, Caryn Mandabach and Jimmy Tande, while cinematography for the project has been done by George Steel.

With its wartime setting, returning characters and deeper exploration of Tommy Shelby’s psyche, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man promises to deliver a powerful continuation of the Shelby saga and offer fans a new chapter in the story of one of television’s most compelling crime families.
