Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly set to reunite with Ayan Mukerji for Brahmastra 2. According to a Pinkvilla report, the makers are currently discussing the script, with the much-awaited sequel already in pre-production.
Ranbir is expected to wrap up Ramayana: Part 2 by January next year before taking a short break and moving on to Brahmastra 2. He will reportedly be joined by his wife and co-star Alia Bhatt, who will reprise her role as Isha alongside Ranbir’s Shiva.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone may also return to the franchise, with reports suggesting that she could play Amruta in the sequel.
RK is reportedly expected to complete filming for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 2 by January 2027. Following a brief preparation phase, the actor is likely to begin shooting for Brahmastra 2 in April 2027.
Fans were left surprised after Deepika Padukone made a brief appearance in Brahmastra as Shiva’s mother, sparking curiosity about her character and her possible role in the sequel.
According to an insider report, Ayan Mukerji and his creative team are keen to bring Deepika on board, believing that the role of Amruta demands an actor with strong screen presence and gravitas. However, talks are still ongoing, with her availability and the film’s production schedule likely to determine her involvement.

Another major highlight of Brahmastra 2 is expected to be Ranbir Kapoor’s reported double role. The actor may portray both Shiva and Dev, further expanding the mythology and conflict introduced in the first instalment.
Ranbir is reportedly excited to return to the franchise and take on the challenging dual role. His portrayal of both characters could allow the sequel to explore the complex connection and conflict between Shiva and Dev on a much larger scale.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will also share the screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which is slated to release in 2027.
