Ranveer Singh’s new action thriller Dhurandhar garnered a strong audience upon its theatrical release on December 5, 2025. The film earned approximately Rs 16 crore on its first day, followed by a sharp increase over the weekend. Director Aditya Dhar’s story is inspired by real-life events. The film is over three hours long and has been granted an “A” certificate by the CBFC, making it the longest Bollywood release in 17 years. Along with Ranveer Singh, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun.

According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 32 crore on its second day of release, followed by a remarkable Rs 43 crore on its third day, Sunday. Sunday’s figure was the film’s highest single-day collection to date. With the combined earnings from these three days, the film entered the Rs 100 crore club in its opening weekend. However, the film’s momentum slowed slightly on Monday, the fourth day. According to initial estimates, the film earned around Rs 0.72 crore on Monday. This decline is typically seen after the weekend for all big films.

On Sunday, the film’s makers released a viral song featuring Akshaye Khanna, which garnered significant attention on social media. The Bahraini song FA9LA, written and sung by Flipparchi in 2024, is already popular on YouTube. The song’s return and use in the film further fueled the buzz among audiences.
The story of the movie unfolds in Pakistan early in the 2000s when Ranveer Singh is an Indian agent. His job is to get rid of the most feared and strongest gangs in Karachi and while battling them, he has to deal with some very scary and at the same time very emotional situations. Besides intense story, powerful performances, and the best of the best actors, Dhurandhar has made people talk about it and still it is not clear how the movie will further its stranglehold on the box office in the future.
