Raspberry Juice is a refreshing fruit drink made with fresh raspberries, water and sugar. The berries are blended until smooth and can be strained for a smoother texture if preferred. This homemade juice has a bright sweet-tart flavor and a vibrant red color. It is easy to make and can be served chilled as a cooling drink on warm days.
About Raspberry Juice
Raspberry Juice is a simple beverage made by blending fresh or frozen raspberries with water and a sweetener. It is one of the easiest ways to enjoy the fresh flavor of raspberries.
The juice has a naturally sweet-tart taste. Depending on the variety and ripeness of the berries, you may need to adjust the amount of sugar.

Fresh raspberries available in India are often slightly tart. A little sugar helps balance the flavor and enhances the natural fruitiness.
This recipe uses only three main ingredients. You can also add a little lemon juice if the berries are not very tart.
The juice can be enjoyed with the seeds or strained for a smoother texture. Straining is especially useful when serving young children or elderly people.
Frozen raspberries work equally well in this recipe. They create a thicker and slightly slushy drink.
I prefer using 1½ cups water for a fuller raspberry flavor and a medium-thick consistency. For a thinner juice, you can add a little more water. Avoid adding too much, as it can dilute the fresh berry flavor.
This recipe makes about 2 medium glasses and can easily be doubled for serving more people.

How to Make Raspberry Juice (Stepwise)
1. Rinse 250 grams fresh raspberries thoroughly in water. Drain all the water using a colander or strainer.
Add the rinsed raspberries to a blender jar.

2. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons sugar. Feel free to add your preferred sweetener instead of sugar.

3. Next add 1½ cups water. For a cold juice, you can add chilled water.

4. Blend until smooth and evenly mixed. Taste the juice and add more sugar if needed.
Check the consistency. For a slightly thinner juice, add up to ¼ cup more water and blend again.
At this stage, you can add ½ teaspoon lemon juice if the raspberries are not very tart.

5. The seeds naturally give a slightly gritty texture. If you prefer a smoother raspberry juice, strain it through a fine mesh strainer.

6. Pour into glasses and serve raspberry juice immediately. You can also chill the juice for a few hours before serving.

Serving Suggestions
Serve raspberry juice chilled as a refreshing summer drink. You can add a few ice cubes while serving or blend the berries with cold water.
The juice pairs well with breakfast, snacks or light brunch meals.
Storage
Raspberry juice tastes best when served fresh. If needed, refrigerate it in a covered jar or bottle for up to 4 to 5 hours.
Stir well before serving as natural separation may occur.
Helpful Tips
- Use ripe berries: Choose raspberries that are bright in color, plump and free from mold. Fresh, ripe berries make the juice more flavorful and vibrant.
- Adjust sweetness: Depending on how sweet or tart the raspberries are, you can increase or decrease the sugar or your preferred sweetener.
- Strain if preferred: Raspberry seeds can create a slightly grainy texture. Strain the juice for a smoother consistency.
- Do not over dilute: One and a half cups water gives a nice medium-thick juice with a pronounced raspberry flavor. Add only a little extra water if needed.
- Use frozen raspberries: Frozen berries work well and make the juice thicker and more slushy.
- Serve chilled: Cold water or a few ice cubes make the juice more refreshing.
