Shanaya Kapoor Opens Up About Her Shelved Films: ‘Maybe I Wasn’t Meant To Do Those’
Shanaya Kapoor is currently seen in the survival thriller film, Tu Yaa Main, with Adarsh Gourav. Well, she recently opened up about her journey to big-screen debut films, which were shelved. Shanaya had multiple offers coming her way, including Bedhadak and Vrusshabha with Mohanlal.
In a conversation with the Indian Express SCREEN, Shanaya Kapoor opened up about her debut films. “When I look back at it now, I feel everything happens for a reason. Maybe I wasn’t meant to do those films. Maybe I was meant to do something completely different. Looking at it in hindsight now, I feel glad my career shaped this way,” Shanaya said.
Tu Yaa Main Box Office Day 4:
Bejoy Nambiar’s survival thriller Tu Yaa Main, led by Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, is struggling to find firm footing at the box office. Despite a steady weekend pattern, the film’s overall numbers remain underwhelming, raising concerns about its theatrical longevity. On its first Monday, the film recorded a 35 percent drop from Friday, adding just Rs 40 lakh to its tally. The four-day cumulative collection now stands at Rs 3.25 crore nett in India. While a Monday decline after the weekend is standard, the issue lies in the scale of collections. For a film that does not ride on conventional star power, strong word-of-mouth becomes crucial for survival. That push, however, seems missing. The thriller appears to be heading toward a disappointing theatrical run, with limited audience traction and subdued buzz.
Adarsh Gourav Urges Audiences To Show Up For Tu Yaa Main: ‘We Are Off To A Slow Start But…’
In his note, Adarsh appealed to audiences to show up for smaller commercial films like theirs as well. “It’s important that people show up in bigger numbers and watch smaller commercial films like ours too because it gives a real chance to other writers and directors to develop films that are clutter-breaking. It encourages producers to back films that are trying to do anything unique. Plus, this one is tailor-made for a big screen experience. We are off to a slow start but we’ve been feeling all the love coming our way. If you liked the film, please tell your friends about it and watch us all get destroyed by an 18-foot Crocodile,” he wrote.
