Sonakshi Sinha recently spoke about her whirlwind love story with husband Zaheer Iqbal during a chat with Hauterrfly. The actress revealed that she confessed her feelings to Zaheer within just a week of meeting him. This made Zaheer feel that she had lost her mind or was love-deprived. Sonakshi Sinha also mentioned that she knew she wanted to marry Zaheer within one month of dating.
Sonakshi Sinha said, “I was the first one to confess my love to Zaheer as well. Kya hai usme? Clarity hoti hai na life main. I don’t know kya hua. I just stopped looking for love and then yeh insaan meri life main tapka. Jab tapka toh maine bola accha aisa hota hai kya?”
She recalled, “Maine usse ek hafte main bata diya tha that I love him. He thought I was completely bonkers. Unhe laga yeh ladki pagal ho gayi hai. Usne meri best friend ko phone karke bola, ‘Listen, I think she’s very love-deprived. She thinks she loves me.'”
The actress added, “I knew instantly that this is my person. There was some click, some recognition I felt where it felt like we knew each other for the longest time… it just felt easy and safe. So I told him. Then after one month, I told him, ‘I’m going to marry you.'”
“Mere saath yeh pehle kabhi nahi hua hai. I’ve not gone to anyone and told them that I’m going to marry them after one month of… you’re not even properly dating. You’re just getting to know each other and just dating, chilling and hanging. It happened to me for the first time and now I’m married to him, seven years later,” Sonakshi said.
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in June last year. They held an intimate wedding in Mumbai with only their families and close friends in attendance. The couple then threw a grand reception in Mumbai which was a star-studded event.
