In push to holding ex-ministers, bureaucrats accountable, formation of Delhi Assembly’s PAC likely today | Delhi News

The constitution of the Delhi Legislative Assembly’s significant Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is likely on Tuesday, sources said. This comes on the same day when the 8th out of 14 reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, which were pending to be tabled in the House under the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, is scheduled to be presented in the House. According to sources in the Assembly Secretariat, the move will give impetus to the process of holding accountable and demanding financial restitution — if necessary – from bureaucrats at the helm of Delhi government departments as well as former Ministers, for losses to the Capital’s treasury, within the coming three months. These losses — which will be required to be established through deliberations between the nine-member PAC, government officials representing various departments, and representatives from the CAG — could be those caused due to lacunae in the formulation of policies, their implementation, or other decisions taken during the tenure of the previous AAP government. Sharma emphasized that …
