West Bengal BJP state President and Minister of State for Education and DoNER Dr. Sukanta Majumdar has written to West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose in regards to the statement made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee referring to Maha Kumbh as “ Mrituu MahaKumbh”. In the letter Majumdar writes , “ with deep anguish and strong protest against the recent statement made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, where she referred to the revered Maha Kumbh Mela as “Mrityu Mahakumbh ” during her address in the Vidhan Sabha. Such a statement is not only highly insensitive but also deeply offensive to millions of Hindus across the nation and beyond.” He further writes ,”The Kumbh Mela is one of the holiest gatherings in Hindu tradition, symbolizing faith, devotion, and spiritual awakening.
