He further writes ,”The Kumbh Mela is one of the holiest gatherings in Hindu tradition, symbolizing faith, devotion, and spiritual awakening. By calling it “Mrityu Mahakumbh,” the Hon’ble Chief Minister has insulted the sentiments of croresof devotees who participate in this sacred event with utmost reverence. It is unfortunate that a person holding such a high constitutional position has made a remark that not only disrespects religious traditions but also created unnecessary divisions in society.”

The State President alleges that such statements can lead to social disharmony and also hurt religious sentiments and that the matter be looked into . Majumdar in the letter urged the Governor to expunge the Chief Minister’s statement from the Assembly record, take cognisance of the matter, and seek a public apology from the Chief Minister.

“It is imperative that constitutional authorities ensure that such remarks do not go unchecked, as they can lead to social disharmony and hurt religious sentiments,” he wrote.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while alleging the Yogi Adityanath government lack of planning following the deadly stampede that killed at least 30 lives , at the state assembly,termed the event “Mrityu Kumbh” and accused the UP government of prioritising only VVIPs.

In a second letter to the Governor of West Bengal Majumdar spoke regarding the suspension of four BJP MLAs —Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, Agnimitra Paul, Vishwanath Karak, and Bankim Ghosh for a month from the West Bengal state assembly by the Speaker .

“In this regard, I would like to draw your kind attention to the fact that this suspension raises serious concerns about the fair representation of the people and the democratic functioning of the Assembly,” wrote BJP state president in his letter .

Majumdar raises question as to why the Speaker of the House repeatedly suspends MLA s who voice the concern of the people of the State, “ Furthermore, it has become an alarming pattern that the Speaker repeatedly suspends MLAs who voice the concerns of the people of West Bengal.” Majumdar appeals to the Governor to reconsider the decision and to take necessary steps .
The Opposition members led by the Leader of Opposition started protesting after the Speaker refused to hold a discussion on an adjournment motion tabled by Ms. Paul. The motion stated that Saraswati Puja celebrations were not allowed in certain parts of the State. Soon after the motion was disallowed, Mr. Adhikari and some other legislators descended into the well of the House and raised slogans. They also tore papers tabled on the desk of members and hurled it towards the chair of the Speaker. Speaker Banerjee said the behaviour of the BJP legislators in the manner that they tore of up official papers that were given to them and threw it at the chair, was unacceptable and thus suspended as Trinamool Congress MLA Nirmal Ghosh brought a motion stating such behaviour was unacceptable.
