Instagram expands TV app to Samsung TVs, tests longer-form and live content formats | Technology News

The meta-owned platform said Instagram for TV is now available on Samsung Smart TVs released from 2020 onwards in the US. The app was previously available on Amazon Fire TV and Google TV devices. With the latest rollout, Instagram said it now reached a majority of connected TV devices in the country. Alongside the expansion, the company is testing several features designed around how people watch content together in living rooms. These include interest-based channels that group videos such as comedy, sports and creators, making it easier for viewers to discover content collectively. Aadhaar app crosses 31 crore downloads within five months of launch

The government on Monday said that Aadhaar app has crossed 31 million (31 crore) downloads since it was launched less than 5 months back, witnessing a robust acceptance among people across India.  So far, almost 40 lakh people have updated their mobile numbers using the new Aadhaar App. At the same time, around 850,000 people have used the App for updating their address, the IT Ministry said. “The growing adoption reflects increasing resident confidence in the App for bringing services at their fingertips,” the ministry mentioned. The new Aadhaar App is available in both Android and Apple iOS platforms. Designed to improve ease of living, the new Aadhaar App enables people to avail various services including mobile number update, and address updates easily directly from their smart phones. It is designed to provide Aadhaar Number Holders (ANH) with a convenient and privacy-first way to show, share, and verify their identity. A source-code offer can look like easy money until developers read the license. Google is reportedly offering to pay select Android developers for access to app source code, according to 404 Media. For Play Store developers, including those across APAC markets, the offer raises questions about intellectual property, security, privacy, and how submitted code could be used in AI-related products or tools. What the reported Google offer says 404 Media reported on June 2, 2026, that Google emailed some Android app developers with apps on the Play Store about a “confidential content offer pilot.” The reported email invited developers to share “the code powering” their apps, including active production codebases and archived projects such as prototypes or discontinued side projects. According to the reported email, the license would be non-exclusive, developers would keep their intellectual property, and the code would help improve Google’s developer tools and products.
