The Kartavya-KAAMS is an artificial intelligence (AI) and geographic information system (GIS) enabled facial recognition mobile app. It is mandatory for teaching and non-teaching staff to register attendance twice a day on the app from the place where they are on duty from the academic year 2026-27. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in the State Budget for 2025-26, had announced that the Kartavya-KAAMS would be implemented in all departments. State government employees can download this mobile application and register with the KGID number registered in HRMS and record attendance at their place of duty. Guwahati, A special mobile application will soon enable the digitisation of manuscripts or books in Assamese language by their owners and link them to one of the largest digital repositories of publications in the language under an ongoing community-driven project. Scan, upload, preserve: Mobile app to decentralise digitisation of Assamese language books The mobile app is aimed at decentralising the digitisation initiative led by the Nanda Talukdar Foundation and supported by the Assam Jatiya Bidyalay Educational and Socio-Economic Trust. Under the ‘Digitising Assam’ project, 2.76 million Assamese archival documents, including books, journals, manuscripts and rare historical records, have already been digitally preserved and are available at assamarchive.org. In the next phase, NTF is preparing to launch a mobile app that will transform ordinary smartphones into scanning devices, foundation secretary Mrinal Talukdar told PTI. “The goal of this innovation is to decentralise digitisation and give it the form of a mass movement across Assam, where people can scan books, journals and manuscripts from their own homes and contribute to this knowledge repository,” he said. Delhi Police arrest man for duping 500 women in Rs 2-crore dating app scam

Delhi Police on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly defrauding more than 500 women across the country of nearly Rs 2 crore, news agency ANI reported. The accused duped the victims by targeting them through dating and matrimonial applications, officers said. According to the South-West District Cyber Police, the accused, identified as Anand Kumar, is a resident of West Bengal. Officers further informed that he has also been involved in honey-trapping, romance scams, and blackmailing for a considerable period.  Police said that the accused created multiple fake accounts across social media platforms, posing as a doctor, businessman, or film producer, to gain the trust of women. “He would establish emotional connections with the victims by promising love and marriage. Later, he would fabricate stories such as medical emergencies, business losses, or urgent financial needs to extract money,” a police officer said. In several instances, Kumar also allegedly blackmailed victims by threatening to circulate their private photos and videos online, ANI reported.
