Over 700 trained personnel will start field operations under the house-listing and housing census (HLO), wherein the enumerators will visit households to record their details under Phase-1 of the Census 2027, officials said on Wednesday. The exercise will be carried out over a 30-day period, until May 15. The exercise will begin on Thursday in eight states and Union territories. Parts of central and north Delhi will face partial disruption in water supply as operations at the Chandrawal water treatment plant were expected to be halted due to emergency work, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said on Tuesday. Traffic movement between Delhi and Noida was severely affected on Monday after a workers’ protest in Gautam Buddha Nagar district escalated into violence, reported the IANS. According to the Delhi Traffic Police, heavy congestion was reported along the Noida Link Road as protesters blocked routes near the Chilla Border, disrupting vehicles travelling from Delhi towards Noida. The police issued a traffic advisory urging commuters to avoid the affected stretch and plan their journeys in advance. Motorists heading towards Noida were advised to use alternative routes such as the DND Flyway via Sarai Kale Khan or the NH-24 route through Kondli Bridge, entering Noida via Noida Mod, as per the IANS. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday has forecast continued hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets across Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri for Friday and Saturday, urging residents to take precautions. According to the IMD’s latest five-day district forecast, the region will experience humid weather conditions today (April 10), with similar conditions likely to persist on Saturday.
