The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board has confirmed the events, and athlete quotas for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Dakar, Senegal. The decision came as a shock for the Indian fans as a few of their most successful sports like Hockey, Shooting, and Weightlifting are not part of this edition of the Youth Olympic Games. Paris Olympic multi-medalist Manu Bhaker, was one of the find for India from the Youth Olympics as she won a gold medal for India at the previous edition of the games in 2018. Overall, India won 3 Gold, 9 silver, and 1 bronze from that edition. Dakar 2026 will showcase one discipline from each of the 25 sports on the competition program. Additionally, it will also feature an engagement program that will showcase 10 sports.
