SHIV KUMAR Gautam, shooter in the Baba Siddique murder case, told police that he was motivated to gun down Siddique by wanted accused Shubham Lonkar who convinced him that he was carrying out a ‘patriotic and religious act’ in addition to being promised money and a trip abroad. Gautam further told the police that Lonkar’s gang also wanted to gun down Aftab Poonawala, who in 2022 had murdered and chopped the body of Shraddha Walkar, a girl from their community.
