Delhi court rejects bail plea of accused Manisha Waghmare

A Delhi court on Tuesday dismissed the bail plea of Manisha Waghmare, an accused in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 paper leak case being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The order was passed by the Rouse Avenue Court after hearing arguments from both sides. During the hearing, Waghmare’s counsel submitted that she is a certified education counsellor and earns a regular income through counselling services. The defence argued that the CBI’s allegation regarding a financial transaction was misconceived, stating that around Rs 3.5 lakh credited to her account had come from the execution of a gift deed related to ancestral property. New Delhi, The Delhi High Court has refused to grant anticipatory bail to a man in a cyber fraud case involving the transfer of around ₹1 crore in cryptocurrency. According to the complaint, the accused, Gaurav, met the complainant through a common friend in 2024 and subsequently requested him to provide digital currency worth ₹1 crore. It is alleged that the complainant initially declined the request, but after the accused repeatedly induced him and promised lucrative investment opportunities, the complainant transferred USDT 111,247, equivalent to approximately ₹1 crore to him. The court was informed that the cryptocurrency transfer was done from the complainant’s “wallet” to a “wallet” controlled and operated by the present accused, and after retaining a portion, the accused allegedly transferred approximately USDT 104,526 to his associates, including a co-accused. …

TCS Nashik case: Hearing on Nida Khan`s bail plea deferred to June 12

A court in Nashik on Saturday deferred the hearing on the bail application of Nida Khan, an accused in the alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion case at Tata Consultancy Services` (TCS) Nashik unit, to June 12. Additional Sessions Judge KG Joshi (Nashik Road) adjourned the matter and scheduled the next hearing for June 12. The bail pleas filed by co-accused Danish Sheikh and Tausif Attar will also be heard on the same day, news agency PTI reported. Khan was arrested from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and remanded in judicial custody on May 11. Her custody was later extended, and her bail plea was listed for hearing on Saturday. The development comes a day after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case filed its second charge sheet before a Nashik court.
