A man, who cleared the sub-inspector examination, and his father died early Thursday in a village in this district after accidentally touching a broken live power line in the field where they had gone to defecate, police said. The incident took place in Sahpurwa village under Bansdih Road police station area following which villagers staged a road blockade. According to the police, Rajesh Yadav (27) and his father Janardan Yadav (58) had gone to the field around 6 am for their morning routine when Rajesh came in contact with the power line that had snapped and fallen there the previous night. As Janardan rushed to save his son, he too came in contact with the live wire and both died on the spot, officials said. Rajesh had successfully cleared the recruitment examination for the post of sub-inspector in the police department. Following the incident, villagers blocked the Ballia-Bansdih highway, disrupting traffic. Police on Friday arrested two men for allegedly abducting and assaulting a married woman with mental health issues, an officer said. According to police, the case was registered on Thursday at Bansdih Police Station on a complaint lodged by the victim`s husband. Based on the complaint, the police booked two brothers — Santosh Kumar Thakur, alias Munna Thakur, and Rajesh Kumar Thakur, alias Guddu Thakur, aged 48 and 43. The FIR stated that on the night of February 27, the woman left her house and reached Kewra Chatti but was abducted by the two men on a motorcycle. They took her behind a cold storage facility in the area, where they assaulted her when she resisted the sexual advance, it read. In an extremely unfortunate incident at Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, two men were killed and three others injured when a speeding car lost control and rammed into a roadside tree, police said on Wednesday. Two Mumbai-bound express trains received bomb threats on Tuesday, prompting authorities to halt the trains at two different stations in Uttar Pradesh for search, officials said. According to Government Railway Police (GRP) officials, information about the presence of bombs in the Kamayani Express from Ballia to Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, and the Dadar Express from Gorakhpur to Mumbai was received at around 10.30 am through social media.
