CPI(M) urges Opposition unity, criticises Congress over INDIA bloc stance

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has called for the revival of the Opposition INDIA bloc following the recently held Assembly election results, but alleged that the Congress, the largest constituent of the alliance, took a stand contrary to unity-building. “The attitude of the Congress towards other opposition parties does not help build the unity of secular forces in a united fight against the RSS-BJP, which is the need of the hour,” said a party statement issued on Monday after the Central Committee (CC) met in New Delhi from May 22 to 24 to assess recent Assembly election outcomes. It condemned allegations that CPI(M) had a “deal” with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Kerala polls, calling them malicious and baseless. Cockroach Janata Party >>> Bharatiya Janata Party. At least on Instagram

India’s newest satirical political outfit Cockroach Janata Party has pulled off something no opposition party has managed in years — overtaking the Bharatiya Janata Party on Instagram. The Cockroach Janata Party started as a satire after CJI Surya Kant’s remarks comparing some youth to ‘cockroaches’. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a meme-driven satirical movement launched just four days ago, claimed on Wednesday that it had crossed 10.1 million followers on Instagram, surpassing the BJP’s 8.7 million followers on the platform. The development marks a new chapter in India’s internet politics era, where a parody party born out of online outrage is suddenly competing with the country’s most dominant political machine in the social media arena. The party celebrated the milestone with a triumphant statement: “It took just 4 days. Don’t underestimate the power of the youth.” Founder Abhijeet Dipke also took a swipe at the BJP’s long-standing “world’s largest party” branding, posting on X: “World’s largest party they said.” From satire to social media phenomenon The Cockroach Janta Party emerged after controversial remarks attributed to …

He further alleged that during the recounting of postal ballots, 255 votes were initially accepted as valid by all agents but were later tampered with by subordinate officials. “This is not vote chori but vote dacoity,” the …
