According to the local police, Ramesh Mulji Parmar died while three other workers, Rajendra Prasad Bhagora, Jayanti and Naran, were injured in the incident. The incident took place around noon and the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) received the call around 12:18 pm on Friday when a pressurised vessel at the MSN Intermediates Pvt Ltd factory exploded. This was followed by a secondary fire caused by the blast. This blaze was in a truck filled with hydrogen tanks, fire brigade officials said. More than 40 firefighters were involved in the operation. Firefighters had to battle an essentially transparent flame for several hours and look for any trapped workers in the rubble of the unit. At least 11 persons, most of them workers, were injured in an explosion at a chemical factory in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra on Friday, police said, reported the PTI. According to the police, the explosion took place at the Dr Khan Industrial Consultants (DKIC) unit located at Lote Parshuram MIDC (chemical zone), around 250 km from Mumbai. Seven people were burnt alive in an illegal firecracker-manufacturing factory in the Bhiwadi town of Rajasthan`s Khairthal-Tijara district on Monday, officials said. “Seven persons have died in the incident. It was a garment factory but firecrackers were being manufactured inside it illegally,” Sumitra Pareek, Additional District Magistrate, said. She said that two people were trapped in the factory. The incident occurred in the Khushkhera-Karoli industrial area in Bhiwadi. “The premises was leased out in the name of a garment factory but as per the preliminary report, firecrackers were being manufactured illegally,” she said. She said that the police came to know about the incident during a routine patrol, following which a rescue operation was launched immediately.
