CISF recovers country-made pistol, live cartridge at Delhi Metro station
Alert personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detected a country-made pistol along with a live cartridge during security screening at Mandi House Metro Station in New Delhi on Thursday, preventing the prohibited weapon from entering the metro. According to the CISF, the weapon was detected at 10.11 am during the routine security screening of a passenger at the station. CISF personnel immediately secured the individual and informed the Delhi Metro Rail Police (DMRP), Supreme Court. Delhi Police personnel reached the station shortly afterwards and took custody of the passenger and the recovered weapon. Teams from the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Crime Team also arrived at the spot to carry out a detailed investigation. Further legal proceedings are being undertaken by the Delhi Police, officials said.
