Police said they increased checks across the district to find foreigners who had overstayed their visas or were living in India without proper documents. During a month-long operation, teams from Bindapur, Dabri, and Mohan Garden police stations caught 23 foreign nationals. Out of these, 15 were from Nigeria, four from Senegal, two from Ivory Coast, one from Tanzania, and one from Liberia. After completing legal procedures, all 23 were taken to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office, which ordered their deportation, police said. Delhi blast: J-K police detain Haryana preacher in `white collar module case`

In view of cracking down on the terror modules across India, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday detained a preacher from Mewat in Haryana. The accused has been detained in connection with the `white collar` terror module operating from a university in Faridabad, officials said. As reported by the news agency PTI, the accused, named Maulvi Ishtiyaq, has been brought to Srinagar. He was allegedly staying in a rented house within the Al Falah University complex in Faridabad. During the search operations, the Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered more than 2,500 kg of ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate and sulphur from his home, the officials said. As per the reports, the accused, from whom high-quality explosive-making material has been recovered, is likely to be placed under arrest. A high-intensity explosion in a car near the Red Fort on Monday evening killed at least eight people and injured 24 others, gutting several vehicles and triggering panic in the busy area. File | Photo Credit: ANI Hours ahead of the Delhi blast, the Jammu & Kashmir Police carried out a wide-scale crackdown in around 10 districts of the Valley on Monday (November 10, 2025). Around 100 locals were either detained or bound down in several districts as more than 70 locations were raided and searched. In north Kashmir’s Baramulla, police said an operation was launched and 16 properties linked to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) or Pakistan-based Kashmiri natives, and 23 locations with links to “over ground workers” (OGWs) were searched. “The operation resulted in 10 individuals being bound down under preventive provisions. Besides, 16 OGWs are bound down for aiding unlawful activities,” the police said. A 40-year-old man died after falling from the balcony of his house in Kanshiram Colony in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
