Sneha Mehta (35), the wife of Amudan Chemical Pvt Ltd owner Malay Mehta (38) and one of the two directors in the firm, was arrested by Thane police crime branch on Tuesday in connection with the May 23 reactor blast in the company in Dombivli MIDC in which 10 people were killed.  Sixty eight people were injured in the incident and nine people are still missing. “Sneha, who is director in the Amudan company along with her husband Malay, was questioned and after her role was established in the preliminary probe, she was placed under arrest. She will be produced in court tomorrow,” said senior inspector Ashok Koli of Thane crime branch. The death toll in the incident is likely to increase as charred bodies and body parts recovered from the incident site are beyond recognition. Only three of the deceased have been identified as of now, and nine families are yet to get a “confirmation” about their missing family members.
