Thirty-nine pilgrims undertaking the annual Amarnath Yatra were injured after a tourist bus skidded off the road at Hariganiwan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday. The bus was carrying devotees who were returning after offering prayers at the Amarnath cave shrine when the accident occurred. Authorities said all the injured pilgrims were rescued and shifted for medical treatment. Rescue operation launched immediately Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police rushed to the accident site and carried out rescue operations. A woman and her two young daughters died after a fire broke out in a residential building in south Delhi’s Lodhi Colony area on Tuesday, officials said, reported the PTI. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) and police received information about the blaze at around 10.20 am at a house opposite Chawla Sweets in BK Dutt Colony, under the Lodhi Road police station area. Doctors at Shimla’s Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) called off their strike after Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu assured that the patient-physician brawl that led to the termination of services of a senior resident would be looked into again. The Resident Doctors Association (RDA), in a statement, said the indefinite strike, which entered its second day on Sunday, has been called off with immediate effect in the larger public interest. It said the government has assured them that the doctor’s termination could also be revoked. The termination of the services of Dr Raghav Narula earlier this week had led the resident doctors to announce an indefinite strike on Saturday, with medical services, barring emergency services, disrupted for the second day at a few places in the state. On Friday, resident doctors were on mass leave demanding the immediate reinstatement of Narula.
