ISRO forms panel to probe PSLV mission failure to place EOS-09 satellite in orbit | Latest News India

ISRO has formed a committee to investigate the incident in which a PSLV rocket failed to place an Earth observation satellite (EOS-09) into its intended orbit, Chairman V Narayanan said on Sunday. PSLV-C61 mission was not accomplished after it encountered an anomaly in the third stage. (X/ISRO) The committee has held several rounds of discussions to identify the cause, he added. Earlier in the day, ISRO failed to place its Earth observation satellite in orbit after the trusted PSLV rocket developed a fault minutes after launch from Sriharikota, about 135 km from here. “Today, we had the 101st mission from Sriharikota. The rocket is a four-stage vehicle. The first stage comprises a 134-tonne solid propulsion system and has six strap-on motors, each holding 12 tonne of propellant. The second stage has a 40-tonne liquid propulsion system, the third stage an 8-tonne solid propulsion system, and the fourth stage again uses liquid propulsion. These four stages must work in tandem to place a satellite into orbit,” Narayanan explained. After a 22-hour countdown, the rocket lifted off …

EOS-09 satellite: "Every launch is a learning process", says space strategist

EOS-09 satellite: "Every launch is a learning process", says space strategist

The 63rd PSLV launch of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to place the EOS-9 surveillance satellite in orbit was unsuccessful due to a decrease in pressure during the third of four stages. As per ANI, space strategist PK Ghosh stated that the unfortunate failure encountered by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in the launch of its 101st satellite, EOS-09, aboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C61), should be used as a learning process, and not to get demotivated by this failure.  Speaking with ANI, Ghosh also said, “It is slightly unfortunate, but I do not like to use the term `failure`. Every launch is a learning process. We assume that there was some problem in the third stage. This is our 101st launch; we had remarkable success… I am sure we will learn from this and go forward in our next launch.” Earlier in the day, ISRO Chief V Narayanan announced that the launch was not successful, and experts are currently analysing the entire process. While addressing a media briefing, V Narayanan, the ISRO …

What ISRO Chief V Narayanan Said After EOS-09 Satellite Launch Could Not Be Accomplished

What ISRO Chief V Narayanan Said After EOS-09 Satellite Launch Could Not Be Accomplished

Sriharikota: ISRO on Sunday could not accomplish the launch of an Earth observation satellite onboard a PSLV-C61 rocket after it encountered some anomaly in its third stage, the space agency’s Chairman V Narayanan said. ISRO’s trusted Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) is a 4-stage rocket and the first two stages were normal, he said. “Today we targeted the 101st launch from Sriharikota, the PSLVC61 EOS-09 mission. The PSLV is a four-stage vehicle and up to the second stage, the performance was normal. The third stage motor started perfectly but during the functioning of the third stage we are seeing an observation and the mission could not be accomplished,” Mr Narayanan said. “After analysis we shall come back,” he said in his brief address post the lift-off. EOS-09 is a repeat satellite similar to EOS-04 launched in 2022 that has been designed with the mission objective to ensure remote sensing data for the user community engaged in operational applications and to improve the frequency of observation. The mission’s payload, a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) which is …

PSLV C61 rocket carrying an Earth observation satellite EOS-09 mission could not accomplished from Sriharikota ISRO

PSLV C61 rocket carrying an Earth observation satellite EOS-09 mission could not accomplished from Sriharikota ISRO

ISRO earlier said, EOS-09 equipped with its payload- Synthetic Aperture Radar- has been designed to provide continuous and reliable remote sensing data for operational applications across sectors. Sriharikota (AP): A PSLV-C61 rocket carrying the Earth observation satellite EOS-09 lifted off from the spaceport Sriharikota early on Sunday (May 18). As per ISRO reports, the mission was not successful as there was a technical glitch in the performance of the third stage, due to which the mission could not succeed. On the launch of PSLV-C61, ISRO chief Dr V Narayanan said, “EOS-09 mission could not be accomplished, and we will come back after analysis.” During the functioning of the third stage, we are seeing an observation, and the mission could not be accomplished. After analysis, we shall come back., said ISRO.  ISRO posted on X and said, “Today 101st launch was attempted, PSLV-C61 performance was normal till the 2nd stage. Due to an observation in the 3rd stage, the mission could not be accomplished.” Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched PSLV-C61, which carries the EOS-09 (Earth …

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched EOS-09 aboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C61) on Sunday. This is ISRO’s 101st satellite launch. This is the 63rd flight of the PSLV and the 27th using the PSLV-XL configuration.(ISRO – X) The PSLV vehicle was launched at 5:59am from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. According to ANI, this is the 63rd flight of the PSLV and the 27th using the PSLV-XL configuration. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), in its 63rd mission, is carrying the Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-09), which can capture high-resolution images of the Earth’s surface under all weather conditions. The satellite’s continuous imaging is crucial for agriculture, forestry monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, and national security.
