Watch Or Skip This Experimental Malayalam Thriller On Netflix?

Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil: Watch Or Skip ( Photo Credit – Instagram ) Malayalam thrillers have built a strong reputation for delivering unique storytelling and unpredictable twists. The latest film, Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil, tries to follow the same path. The film, starring Kunchacko Boban, Dileesh Pothan, and Sajin Gopu in prominent roles, recently arrived on Netflix and has already sparked curiosity among audiences seeking something different. Mixing psychological drama, dark comedy, and thriller elements, the movie tries to offer an unusual cinematic experience. But does it actually succeed in keeping viewers engaged, or does its experimental approach become too confusing, and is it worth your time? Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil Plot Sethu, played by Kunchacko Boban, is a pushover who rarely stands up for himself. He works at a public health center, where his official designation is “office assistant,” but the doctor treats him more like a maidservant. Sethu lives with his older brother Madhu, played by Dileesh Pothan, who is bedridden. In his younger days, Madhu used to be somewhat of a thug. He also suffers …

Adobe’s experimental AI tool can edit entire videos using one frame

Adobe’s experimental AI tool can edit entire videos using one frame

Adobe demonstrated some of the experimental AI tools it’s working on at its Max conference that provide new ways to intuitively edit photos, videos, and audio. These experiments, called “sneaks,” include tools that instantly apply any changes you make to one frame across an entire video, easily manipulate light in images, and correct mispronunciations in audio recordings. Project Frame Forward is one of the more visually impressive sneaks, allowing video editors to add or remove anything from footage without using masks — a time-consuming process for selecting objects or people. Instead, Adobe’s demonstration shows Frame Forward identifying, selecting, and removing a woman in the first frame of a video, and then replacing her with a natural-looking background-similar to Photoshop tools like Context-aware Fill or Remove Background. This removal is automatically applied across the entire video in a few clicks. Users can also insert objects into the video frame by drawing where they want to place it and describing what to add with AI prompts. These changes will similarly be applied across the whole video. The demonstration …

Russia to Establish Experimental Crypto Exchange for ‘Highly Qualified Investors’: Report

Russia to Establish Experimental Crypto Exchange for ‘Highly Qualified Investors’: Report

The Central Bank of Russia and the country’s Finance Ministry are planning to launch an experimental crypto exchange in the coming days. The step is part of Russia’s roadmap of gradually legalising cryptocurrencies. Finance Minister Anton Siluanov was addressing a ministry meeting this week, when he shed light on the plans, according to reports from local media. The development follows Russia’s support for the creation of a blockchain-based payments platform to be used exclusively by members of the BRICS group. Due to the volatility and risks associated with cryptocurrencies, the Central Bank of Russia proposed the testing crypto activities under an experimental legal regime (ELR). Earlier in March, it said it would conduct these crypto transaction trials with “highly qualified investors”. Investors with portfolios worth at least RUB 100 million (roughly Rs. 10 crore) will be considered as suitable to test the crypto exchange. Individuals whose income exceeded RUB 50 million (roughly Rs. 5 crore) will also be considered as qualified investors, according to an Interfax report. Qualified investors will be allowed to invest in …

YouTube Premium’s 4x speed and other experimental features now available to subscribers

YouTube Premium’s 4x speed and other experimental features now available to subscribers

After announcing some new experimental features for YouTube Premium subscribers earlier this month — and that multiple experiments can be tested at once — the company has added one it promised was on the way: the ability to watch videos at 4x speed, as reported by Android Police. I’m personally a 1.5x to 2x sicko when it comes to YouTube videos and podcasts, but 4x is an absolutely blistering speed that’s more apt for skipping past the cruft than consuming info at a faster clip. In similar just-get-to-the-point-already fashion, Jump Ahead gives web users a button to automatically skip to “the content they care about faster” instead of carefully scrubbing through a video. But let’s be honest, this will probably be a button to jump past all the intros and other bloat. The faster playback speed and Jump Ahead features seem the most useful — if you’re already a YouTube Premium subscriber who doesn’t have to sit through ads, the next frontier is skipping through all the cruft. Though higher quality audio is always welcome. …

Tumblr’s experimental GIF feed finally launches after 10 years

Tumblr’s experimental GIF feed finally launches after 10 years

Illustration: The Verge Tumbler has finally launched Tumblr TV as a new tab at the top of its app, the company said today in a brief set of update notes spotted by TechCrunch. Tumblr TV first debuted as a GIF-finding feature in 2015, but now it includes video content as well. Screenshot: Tumblr TV According to Tumblr, “New users will have this tab enabled by default in the third position, while existing users will have it available in the Dashboard Tabs configuration, if not already enabled.” When you tap the Tumblr TV tab, you’ll see a grid of videos and GIFs. Once you tap one, you can like, comment, repost, or share it, and when you’re ready to see something else, you can swipe up to move on. In my very brief testing, it’s still very GIF-heavy despite the inclusion of video and a swipe interface similar to other short-form video apps. It could be tempting to compare Tumblr TV to TikTok, especially in light of its recent shutdown, but right now, it’s more like …

Music Review: Mac Miller’s lost album ‘Balloonerism’ is airy and experimental

Music Review: Mac Miller’s lost album ‘Balloonerism’ is airy and experimental

To coincide with what would have been Mac Miller’s 33rd birthday, his estate has given us all a present — an unreleased album by the late hip-hop star. Music Review: Mac Miller’s lost album ‘Balloonerism’ is airy and experimental “Balloonerism” was shelved around 2014 in favor of the album “Watching Movies With the Sound Off” and the mixtape “Faces.” To my ear, it’s closer to “Faces” but rawer and less intense. Even so, just having Miller back in our ears is a reason to celebrate. The album includes 14 songs and features Thundercat on bass and producing, as well as collaborations with SZA and Ashley All Day. Miller and SZA worked together often during that period, producing tracks that ended up on her third EP. SZA returns the favor on “Balloonerism” with contributions that are subtle, not showy. It’s an airy, experimental album that leans into neo-soul and jazz, often sounding dreamy and drug addled. It’s more scattered, more sprawling, than the music he officially released at the time. Be prepared for sudden changes in …

Google’s Whisk AI Experimental Tool Can Mash-Up Images to Generate Unique Outputs

Google’s Whisk AI Experimental Tool Can Mash-Up Images to Generate Unique Outputs

Google introduced a new experimental artificial intelligence (AI) tool on Monday that can fuse images to generate a unique output. Dubbed Whisk, it is a fun tool that does not have any larger application outside of its designated function. The Mountain View-based tech giant has released several such fun AI tools recently, such as GenChess, which uses the Imagen 3 AI model to generate unique chessboard pieces. With Whisk, the company is showcasing how AI can use just images as a prompt to generate unique art. Google’s Whisk Can ‘Remix’ Input Images In a blog post, the tech giant introduced the new AI tool. Whisk is currently only available in the US, and can be accessed via Google Labs, the company’s platform to release experimental tools created using native AI models. Like all other tools, Whisk is also experimental and Google highlights that sometimes it may not perform the way users would like it to. AI image generators are quite common, however, most of them either accept just text or a mix of text and …

Google ‘Learn About’ Experimental AI Tool With Educational Style Responses Released

Google ‘Learn About’ Experimental AI Tool With Educational Style Responses Released

Google released a new experimental artificial intelligence (AI) tool on Monday aimed at helping users learn about new topics. Dubbed Learn About, the tool is different from the Mountain View-based tech giant’s usual AI offerings, such as Gemini or AI Overviews. The experimental tool shows the information in a visual and interactive style and picks the data from educational sources. The Google Learn About AI tool is built using the LearnLM large language model (LLM), instead of the Gemini AI models. The tech giant detailed the Learn About tool in a sign-up page. Calling it a “conversational learning companion”, Google said that the experimental tool will help users in fulfilling their learning goals. The platform is currently only available to select users in the US, and other regions do not have access to it. Interestingly, the tech giant used a different AI model dubbed LearnLM for the AI tool. The AI model was unveiled during the Google I/O event, and the company said that it is more grounded in educational and research data and is …

Tom Hanks & Robin Wright Can’t Save This Experimental Cliché From Bad Execution

Tom Hanks & Robin Wright Can’t Save This Experimental Cliché From Bad Execution

Here Movie Review Rating: Star Cast: Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Paul Bettany, and Kelly Reilly Director: Robert Zemeckis Here Movie Review Out ( Photo Credit – Instagram ) What’s Good: The concept is fascinating, and watching Zemeckis and his actors try to get the idea right is also quite compelling, but once the movie starts, it stumbles every single time. What’s Bad: Execution is king, and Zemeckis fails to translate his screenplay to the screen. The use of CGI makes everything look fake and overproduced. Loo Break: After the middle point, the movie loses its plot quickly, making staying engaged difficult. Watch or Not?: This is a skip as better art pieces, including the original graphic novel, execute this idea better. Language: English (with subtitles). Available On: Theaters Runtime: 104 Minutes. User Rating: Opening:Robert Zemeckis is one of the greatest American filmmakers of all time; there is no doubt about that. He dares to go the extra mile to create new experiences, using the latest technology and finding a way to make films different. Still, …
