With experimental curbs, commuters get some relief at IKEA Rotary

The map representing the curbs imposed by Cyberabad Traffic Police at IKEA Rotary as part of the experiment to mitigate traffic during peak hours. | Photo Credit: By Arrangement   Months after diverting traffic under the Biodiversity Junction, the Cyberabad Traffic Police has moved its experiment to the IKEA Rotary to manage the traffic congestion during peak hours. It has reduced the size of the rotary by over 12 feet to allow traffic coming Cyber Towers towards IKEA Rotary to take a U-turn at the IKEA Rotary. The rotary was about 40-50 feet in radius earlier. Commuters had to take a U-turn from almost close to the biodiversity junction to go towards Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge.   However, the task is not fully done. “The traffic situation is better than before. However, the volume remains high. Moreover, people are still not fully aware of the restrictions in place and often end up going on the wrong route,” said Rajkumar, an officer from Raidurgam Traffic Police manning the traffic at IKEA Rotary.   Those coming from biodiversity …

Adobe Announces Project Music GenAI Control, an Experimental AI-Based Music Generation Tool

Adobe announced a new experimental artificial intelligence (AI)-based tool on Wednesday that can generate music from simple text prompts. Named Project Music GenAI Control, Adobe says the AI tool not only generates music, but also gives users “pixel-level control for music” by letting them edit, lengthen, shorten, remix, and create loops. There are more edit options available that allow for granular control of the generated clip. Adobe’s latest AI tool arrives after the company announced an AI assistant for Acrobat and Reader last week that can summarise and analyse long PDFs. Project Music GenAI Control, as per Adobe’s announcement, is a music creation and editing interface that works like most other AI tools. Users get a text field where they can add plain text prompts such as “happy rock song”, “intense hip hop beats”, or “sad jazz”. Once the input is sent, the AI will generate a music clip based on the request made. There are no voices in the generated clip; just musical instruments. But this is just one part of what this under-development …

In the official company Discord, OpenAI shared a waitlist for what the company is calling “ChatGPT Professional” — an “experimental” paid version of ChatGPT with all the benefits you’d expect. OpenAI says ChatGPT Professional will be “always available,” offer “fast responses” with no throttling, and give users “at least” twice the daily number of answers compared to the free version of the chatbot. “We’re starting to think about how to monetize ChatGPT (early thinking, nothing official to share yet),” said the company in a message on Discord (spotted by TechCrunch). “Our goal is to continue improving and maintaining the service, and monetization is one way we’re considering to ensure its long-term viability. We’re interested in chatting with some folks for ~15 min to get some early feedback.” Anyone can sign up for the ChatGPT Professional pilot, with the request form including questions about how the respondent is using ChatGPT and what price they would consider fair. It includes the disclaimer: “Please keep in mind that this is an early experimental program that is subject to …
