In a parallel operation against banned food products, officials seized prohibited items worth Rs 5.45 lakh, registered criminal cases against 14 individuals and made arrests under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The drive, conducted between May 29 and May 31, was led under FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. During the operation, food safety officers inspected 47 establishments across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Nashik, Jalna, Beed, Nanded, Parbhani, Solapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Hingoli, Wardha, Yavatmal, Amravati, Akola, and Washim.
