The deadline to apply is April 9, 2026, at 12 pm ET. The Google Public Policy Fellowship programme offers students interested in internet and technology policy the opportunity to spend the summer working on these issues at public interest organisations based in Washington, DC. Fellows will be assigned a lead mentor at a host organisation and will have the opportunity to work with several senior staff members over the course of the semester, contributing to public dialogue on tech policy issues. Fellows are expected to make contributions, including conducting policy research and analysis, drafting reports and white papers, attending government and industry meetings and conferences, and participating in other advocacy activities. Open to researchers, journalists, lawyers, policymakers, civil society practitioners, activists, and writers working on themes related to Dravidian studies, democracy, federalism, social justice and human rights, the Fellowship reflects the wide-ranging intellectual and public impact of B.R. Ambedkar and M. The Tamil Nadu Council of Historical Research has started inviting applications from independent researchers and interested persons who have completed a post-graduate degree for a one-year research fellowship. The fellowship entails conducting in-depth and exhaustive research on the history of Tamil Nadu extracted from archival records in the State. The fellowships carries a monthly financial assistance of ₹50,000. Eligibility criteria and other details are available at www.tamilnaduarchives.tn.gov.in. Students applying for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) have flagged several concerns with the programme since its in-take was announced on September 6 for the current academic year. While the last date to apply was September 30, some students have faced issues in submitting applications due to server errors, whereas others highlight larger concerns like the university’s inconsistency in implementing the programme each year, to the age limit set for the fellowship, which applicants feel is a deterrent in their academic progress. The SPPU-PDF is a full time research programme for PhD degree holders. The age limit for open category applicants is 32 years, for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates it is 37 years and for OBC category it is 35 years. A student on the condition of anonymity said, “From the admission process to PhD submission, research students have to go through many stages. The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has announced the opening of its annual competition for Fulbright-Nehru and other Fulbright fellowships for Indian citizens, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Wednesday. The fellowships are funded by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and the US Department of State. According to the MEA release, such exchanges have helped bring the people of India and the United States closer through opportunities that enrich fellows’ academic, research, teaching, and professional capacities. The MEA has encouraged “outstanding Indian students, academics, teachers, policymakers, administrators, and professionals” to apply. According to the USIEF website, the Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships are designed for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities, have completed the equivalent of a US bachelor’s degree, have at least three years of professional work experience, and are committed to return and contribute to their communities in India. Maharashtra: PhD-holders boycott research fellowship exam

Hundreds of PhD-holder men and women on Wednesday boycotted the common entrance test for research fellowships awarded by three institutes under the Maharashtra government in various cities alleging a question paper leak, a charge denied by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The CET was scheduled to take place in Pune, Nagpur, Kolhapur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar earlier in the day but hundreds of students boycotted the exam and staged demonstrations outside the exam centre. The research fellowships are awarded by Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI) and MahaJyoti. BARTI and MahaJyoti are autonomous institutes under the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance and the OBC class Bahujan Welfare Department, respectively, of the Maharashtra government. SARTHI is also an autonomous body under the state government.
