Bundelkhand Gaurav Mahotsav is being held in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot Chitrakoot: Four children were killed and several others were injured, in an explosion at Bundelkhand Gaurav Mahotsav in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot, police said on Thursday. According to the police, the blast occurred during the fireworks display at the festival. “Four of our children died in this. DIG from Chitrakoot, District Officer Chitrakoot, and SP, Additional SP, among other officials are on the spot, our forensic team, a team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) are also arriving,” Bhanu Bhaskar, Additional Director General (ADG), Prayagraj Zone told reporters at Chitrakoot. One dead, 16 injured in massive blast at illegal firecracker warehouse in Kochi

In Kochi, Kerala, one person died and 16 people, including women and children, were injured in a major blast at an illegal fireworks warehouse in a residential area near Tripunithura. The explosion on Monday caused extensive damage to around 25 houses, many shops, and two vehicles in the area. The deceased was identified as Vishnu from Thiruvananthapuram, while four injured people are said to be in serious condition and have been transferred to Kalamassery Medical College for expert care, reported PTI.  According to the report, the exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained; however, authorities suspect that a huge cache of firecrackers brought to the warehouse might have exploded together. The incident created vibrations several kilometres distant, and the local fire station was also affected. Fire and rescue services arrived quickly to the incident, putting the fire under control, but not before causing major damage in the region. The death toll in the massive fire that broke out inside a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh`s Harda on Tuesday morning has risen to 8, state minister Uday Pratap Singh said adding that the blaze triggered multiple explosions. The injured have been taken to hospitals and efforts were on to control the fire, officials said. Ambulances and fire engines from Indore and Bhopal were rushed to the site of the explosion to tackle the blaze. Singh, who, on Chief Minister Mohan Yadav`s instructions, rushed to the site via helicopter, said that an operation was launched to rescue those still trapped under the debris. “There have been 8 deaths, 58 people injured, and an operation is underway to rescue people from under the debris. The guilty will not be spared. We are taking all the details about the factory from the district administration,” Singh said. Thiruvananthapuram: Three workers of a firecracker unit received minor injuries in Sabarimala hill temple in Kerala on Monday when one of the crackers accidentally went off while filling it, police said. Authorities heaved a sigh of relief as the incident occurred some distance away from the milling crowd of devotees. A temple board official said the mishap occurred near Malikappuram (a small shrine in temple complex) around 5 pm while employees were filling “kathina” (a sort of pyro-technique offering).
