New Delhi: Flight operations were disrupted on Thursday morning following a brief outage of Navitaire software — a system used by airlines worldwide for bookings and check-ins— affecting multiple carriers across the country as well as parts of the Asia-Pacific and Europe, officials said. Navitaire, a subsidiary of Amadeus, provides reservation, inventory and departure control systems primarily to low-cost and hybrid carriers worldwide. “Due to the system outage, IndiGo, Air India Express, Akasa Air and SpiceJet airlines were impacted between 6.45am and 7.28am, and again intermittently from 8.10am to 8.25am, leading to temporary delays in check-in and boarding processes at several airports including Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA),” an official aware of the matter said, requesting anonymity. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Saturday (December 13, 2025) conducted a mock dry run of flight operations at Rajahmundry Airport in view of the potential for flight delays and disruptions caused by fog during the ongoing winter season. In an official release, Rajahmundry Airport Director N.K. (HT Photo) The development comes at a time when IndiGo holds the largest share of flight movements (61%) at Lucknow airport, significantly shaping the region’s air connectivity. For now, passengers have been advised to check flight status regularly and stay prepared for possible changes as operations may stabilise in the coming days. Currently, IndiGo operates 74 flights every day in Lucknow, including 37 arrivals and 37 departures a day. There could be a deviation in numbers as some flights operate around 3 days in a week.
