4 min readMohaliMar 4, 2026 04:07 AM IST A colourful and emotionally charged Holi Milan celebration was held at Rattan Professional College, Sohana, where nearly 500 BEd, law and nursing students celebrated the festival by playing Holi with flowers, spreading a message of love, unity and harmony. The campus resonated with cultural vibrancy as students from Manipur, Nagaland, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh showcased traditional performances symbolising the true spirit of “unity in diversity”. College director Sunder Lal Aggarwal said that around 35 alumni from the 1979–80 batch, now established professionals and entrepreneurs, gathered specially for the occasion. Among them were Parveen Kumar, Swaran Singh, Pawan Kumar, alias “Daddoo”, Bittu Sohana, alias “Kadoo”, Suresh Kumar, and Engineer Surinder Singh, popularly known as “Baba”. The alumni were seen fondly addressing each other by their old nicknames, reliving their youthful days. The reunion turned deeply nostalgic as they revisited cherished school memories. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s deep connection with literature, nature, and the Malnad landscape has taken centre stage at Lalbagh’s Republic Day Flower Show, themed ‘Tejaswi Vismaya’. The floral exhibition, which will run till January 26, brings to life the environment he cherished and the many facets of his life.   Life and works Inside the Glass House and its surroundings, the displays trace different phases of Tejaswi’s life, including his childhood, education, and personal influences. Excerpts from a letter he wrote to his father, Kuvempu, a towering Kannada literary figure, are showcased. There is also information on his mentors and ideological influences, including his contemporaries, Shivaram Karanth and Ram Manohar Lohia, and his parents. The Noida Authority has asked all flat owners to remove the flower pots from the parapets of the balcony, officials said on Thursday. The decision was taken in the aftermath of the incident in Pune, where a child died after a pot placed on a balcony railing fell over him, said Greater Noida Chief Executive Officer M Lokesh. “It (flower pots) can fall on anyone, even while watering the pots or because of the wind. As of now, we are not going to take any fines. It is a sensitive issue. Residents should comply with it because it is a sensitive issue,” the CEO said.
