A day after a woman and her two children ended their lives on the outskirts of Charlapalli Railway Station, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Secunderabad, has asked her husband to appear for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. The man, identified as 48-year-old Surender Reddy, has been working with a private company in Dubai and had been residing there. Police said he returned to Hyderabad on Saturday (January 31, 2026) evening to attend the final rites. An official close to the investigation said that Reddy was contacted over the phone as part of preliminary probe and was asked to come to the police station on Monday for further enquiry. The deceased were identified as 38-year-old Penaty Vijaya, a software employee, and her two children — 18-year-old Chetana Reddy, and 17-year-old Vishal Reddy, both students. Two Mumbai-bound express trains received bomb threats on Tuesday, prompting authorities to halt the trains at two different stations in Uttar Pradesh for search, officials said.
