Bill Murray wishes he hadn’t rejected Clint Eastwood’s Heartbreak Ridge: Find out why and the film’s box office numbers

Bill Murray is opening up about the one project he regrets passing on. The actor and comedian, known for titles like Ghostbusters, Lost in Translation, Zombieland, and more, recently said that he wished he had taken up Clint Eastwood’s offer to star in a war comedy in the mid-1980s. Although he did not reveal the exact project, it appears he was referring to Heartbreak Ridge. Here’s how the movie fared at the box office. Made on a USD 15 million budget, the film hit theaters on December 5, 1986, and earned USD 8.1 million in its opening weekend. The Eastwood, Everett McGill, Marsha Mason, and Mario Van Peebles starrer capped its worldwide revenue at USD 42.7 million. Adjusted for inflation, that figure becomes an impressive USD 124.5 million. “A long time ago, I was watching the Clint Eastwood movies of the day, like Thunderbolt and Lightfoot or whatever movies he was making then, and I thought: ‘His sidekick gets killed, and he avenges, but the sidekick gets a great part, a great death scene,’” Murray shared on …

‘If Kane Williamson hadn’t been slightly unfit… Ravindra might not have gotten his chance’: Tim Southee | Cricket News

In the opening game of the 2023 World Cup when New Zealand played England in Ahemadabad Rachin Ravindra blitzed with 96-balls 123 runs. Post the match-winning innings Ravindra got a continued run in the New Zealand team and now has become a regular in the side. Former New Zealand cricketer Tim Southee would recall if Kane Williamson had not been injured Rachin would not have got his opportunity. “He’s still young, but he has a mature mindset. If Kane Williamson hadn’t been slightly unfit due to his knee injury during the One-Day World Cup last year, Ravindra might not have gotten his chance. But everything happens for a reason. He is always eager to learn, constantly seeking advice from experienced players like Williamson. For a young player, his willingness to improve stands out,” Southee said speaking on ESPNcricinfo. Rachin smashed his fifth ICC ton in the game against South Africa to help New Zealand get into the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Former Australian cricketer Mathew Hayden too would be impressed with Rachin …

‘I hadn’t seen that side of him’: After Sam Konstas’s debut, here’s what surprised mentor Shane Watson | Cricket News

Sam Konstas’ explosive batting on debut in Melbourne didn’t really come as a surprise for mentor Shane Watson. But what did, was the youngster’s showmanship during the Boxing Day Test. Konstas, 19, lit up the first session at MCG with his audacious strokeplay, especially taking on Bumrah. He was also involved in a physical clash with Virat Kohli, after the Indian star (his favourite cricketer) gave him a shoulder barge. Apart from that, he was seen egging up the crowd on the field, and also had words to exchange with Yashasvi Jaiswal while fielding at silly point. “My experience of dealing and working with Sam has been a very quiet, reserved personality,” Watson was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo. “[He’s] a very deep thinker and certainly not an extrovert. But obviously what we saw in the Test match is that he absolutely is a showman. And he certainly rose to the occasion, as in he wasn’t overawed.” “I know through my experience of debuting…you just put a lot of pressure on yourself because it’s your …

‘We Hadn’t Even Kissed’: Cher Spills The Beans About THIS Ex-Boyfriend Who Professed His Love After Their First Date

He admitted that if he hadn’t split with Jennifer Garner, he’d probably still be drinking. Affleck has three kids with Garner (Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel) and came clean about how he felt stuck in his marriage. “We probably would’ve ended up at each other’s throats,” he asserted. “I’d probably still be drinking.” Before you picture a sad Ben drowning his sorrows, he made it clear that it wasn’t just about partying. “It’s part of why I started drinking… because I was trapped,” he explained. The guy was trapped in the parental duty vortex, feeling like he couldn’t leave because of the kids and unhappy in the relationship. Affleck didn’t throw shade at Garner despite the heartache and scotch-fueled couch naps. Instead, he respected their efforts. “We tried for the kids,” he said, but ultimately realized their marriage was no model. “She’s someone I love and respect, but we …

I am not saying we would have won the match if Ashwin had bowled but we didn’t get him to bowl. That was surprising and how,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel. “Why was Ashwin not bowled? I don’t have an answer for …

Machattu Vasanthi death: The prolific singer hadn’t many hits, but had a sweet voice

Machattu Vasanthi death: The prolific singer hadn’t many hits, but had a sweet voice

Machattu Vasanthi, who died in Kozhikode aged 81, wasn’t a prolific playback singer in Malayalam cinema, but she had an extremely sweet, pleasing voice. She breathed her last at the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital on Sunday (October 13, 2024). Vasanthi was best known for her melodic duet with Yesudas, Manimaran thannath, for the classic film Olavum Theeeravum directed by P.N. Menon. It was a significant film in the history of Malayalam cinema. It took moviemaking out of the studio and bridged the gap between art and commerce. The 1970 film’s script was written by M.T. Vasudevan Nair, who, Vasanthi once said, recommended her to music director M.S. Baburaj. The song, which had lovely lyrics by P. Bhaskaran, continues to be popular. It was Baburaj that had introduced her to Malayalam cinema with the 1957 film Minnaminungu, which also marked his debut as a composer. He made her also sing in the 1965 film Ammu. But it was Maninmaran thannath that gave Vasanthi her first hit. Or rather, the only hit of her career in films. Decades …

“If MS Dhoni Hadn’t Gotten Out…”: Ex India Star On Thala’s Bitter Likely Swansong

Former India batter Aakash Chopra believes that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might have secured a place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs if MS Dhoni hadn’t got out. After being hit for a six on the first ball of the final over, Yash Dayal outfoxed Dhoni on the very next delivery with a slower one. Dhoni went for a maximum but the lack of pace on the ball saw him find Swapnil Singh at deep backward square leg. Dhoni joined Jadeja when CSK required 72 runs off 30 balls and the duo managed to add 61 runs in 25 balls. And after Dhoni hit Dayal for a six off the very first ball, it seemed that CSK might pull off another great escape, despite the game already out of their hands. But, Dhoni’s dismissal turned the tide of the match as Dayal only conceded one run from the next five balls. “MS Dhoni was there along with Ravindra Jadeja. Dhoni kept them alive. Maybe this was the last time we saw …
