The Indian batter Ashutosh Sharma will be playing for Hampshire in the upcoming England Domestic One-Day Cup 2026, which is set to begin on July 21. The 27-year old player Ashutosh Sharma holds the record for the fastest men’s T20 fifty by an Indian batter for Railways against Arunachal Pradesh during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2023. Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has joined Hampshire as an overseas signing ahead of the inaugural Tier One County competition. The all-rounder will be available for six T20 Blast fixtures as well as two One Day Cup matches. Should Hampshire qualify for the T20 Blast Finals Day, Perry will be available to play. CONCORD, N.H. — The judge who oversaw a landmark civil trial over abuse at New Hampshire’s youth detention center has issued a preliminary order slashing the $38 million verdict against the state to $475,000. Rockingham County Superior Court Judge Andrew Schulman previously said reducing the amount awarded to plaintiff David Meehan by nearly 99% would be an “unconscionable miscarriage of justice,” He reiterated that belief in a Nov. 4 order, but “reluctantly” granted the state’s request to the cap the award and said he would enter a final judgement to that effect on Friday barring any last-minute requests from attorneys. Hampshire will become the first English County to have overseas ownership after the parent company has decided to sell major shares to GMR Group, the entity which holds teams in various T20 leagues, including Delhi Capitals in the IPL. According to reports, GMR’s parent company, CGPL will initially hold 53% of the Conty’s shares and the complete acquisition is expected to be held within 24 months. The process might involve GMR holding 51% shares in Southern Brave, with ECB finalizing the equity sale of the eight-team tournament. After Hampshire’s former chairman decided to sell his 60% stake in the company, GMR will be the majority shareholder in the club.
