The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for the 48th Shree Jagannath Rath Yatra in Hauz Khas on Thursday, July 16, warning of traffic restrictions and diversions on Aurobindo Marg and nearby roads between 2 pm and 7 pm. The Delhi Traffic Police has asked commuters to use the Metro for a smooth and convenient journey. (ANI) The annual procession, organised by Shri Nilachal Seva Sangh, Delhi, will begin at 2 pm from the Shri Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas Village and proceed along Aurobindo Marg. The yatra is expected to conclude around 6:30 pm. Dhanendra Kumar, the founding chairman of India’s anti-trust watchdog, died after a suspected air-conditioner blast triggered a fire at his Hauz Khas residence late Wednesday night, police said. His son sustained injuries due to smoke inhalation while attempting to rescue him. New Delhi: A 33-year-old Delhi Police head constable had a narrow escape after being overpowered by two unidentified men who snatched his service pistol and fired at him inside the Rose Garden in south Delhi’s Hauz Khas, police said on Monday. After missing the target, the assailants then threatened to kill the constable if he pursued them. The incident occurred around 2 pm on Thursday when head constable, Raj Kumar Yadav, was on patrol duty. He was informed that the two men, aged between 35 and 40, were consuming narcotic substances near the walking track inside the park, police added. New Delhi: A teenage boy and girl were found hanging from a tree at Deer Park in the Hauz Khas area of south Delhi early on Sunday with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide. According to the police, a PCR call was received at 6:31 am from a security guard of Deer Park about the bodies. The boy, aged around 17 years, was dressed in a black T-shirt and blue jeans, while the girl, also approximately of the same age, was wearing a green dress, police said. Investigators are trying to ascertain the identities of the victims and the circumstances leading to the incident, an official said, adding no suicide note has been recovered so far. ‘Being threatened to drop case’, says AIIMS doctor who accused colleague of rape; Hauz Khas police register fresh FIR | Delhi News

The Hauz Khas police in Delhi have filed a fresh case after a woman doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), who had earlier filed a rape case against another doctor at the hospital, alleged that she was being threatened to drop the case. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the 39-year-old woman said that on Friday, when she was on her way to the hospital, she received two phone calls from an unknown number. “The caller threatened me and asked me to take back the rape case I had filed… He said he will shoot me dead and also said he knew about my whereabouts and timings. I was shocked, scared and immediately dialled 112 and informed the police,” she stated. The woman said she informed the local police station as well as the Hauz Khas police where the case was registered. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case under sections 232(1) and 351(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) which pertain to threatening and intimidating a person. …
