Delhiites will be able to enjoy hot air balloon rides from Saturday at two Yamuna floodplain parks of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). A trial run of the first-ever tethered hot air balloon ride at Baansera Park was conducted by the DDA on Tuesday. Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena attended the event. An approximately 10-minute ride will cost Rs 3,000 plus taxes per person, Saxena said. According to the operator, the balloons will fly at a height of 100-150 feet, and permission has been obtained from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the balloons to go up to a height of 200 feet. Rides will now be available at Baansera Park in Sarai Kale Khan and Asita East Park in Laxmi Nagar, with officials stating that based on the response, rides will also be introduced at Yamuna Sports Complex in Surajmal Vihar and Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.
