The Hyderabad City Police’s Women’s Safety Wing arrested trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy late on Tuesday (July 28, 2026) in connection with a sexual harassment case filed based on a complaint by a fellow probationary officer at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA). The case was initially registered at the Attapur police station before being transferred to the Women’s Safety Wing’s She Teams for investigation. An officer involved in the investigation said that the accused had initially evaded the arrest and investigation by switching off his mobile phones and resisted the arrest during apprehension. Following his arrest, he was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for a medical examination and is expected to be produced before a court in Rajendranagar.
