Maharashtra : Water enters Morya Gosavi Ganpati Temple as Pawana River swells
Continuous heavy rainfall across parts of Maharashtra has led to a sharp rise in the water level of the Pawana River, causing water to enter the premises of the Morya Gosavi Ganpati Temple in Pimpri-Chinchwad on Monday. The rise in river levels comes after intense rainfall in several regions, increasing water flow in rivers and other water bodies. Authorities are monitoring the situation as heavy rainfall continues across Maharashtra. Residents living near rivers and low-lying areas have been advised to remain cautious and follow instructions issued by local authorities. IMD issues red alert for several Maharashtra districts The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts, warning of intense rainfall at isolated locations. According to the weather department, heavy rain spells accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 50-60 kmph are likely in some areas.
