Bihar’s Environment, Forest & Climate Change Minister Ram Chandra Prasad on Monday (July 13, 2026) inaugurated “Ecotourism Investors Meet-2026,” which was organised to boost ecotourism with the participation of private investors in the state. A day-long investors’ meet was organised at a city hotel, which was attended by potential investors from across the country who are likely to make investments in different ecotourism destinations of the State. The programme was organised by the Urban Development and Housing Department and Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) at the MIT Muzaffarpur ground. These include 669 projects worth ₹375.04 crore under the ‘Mukhyamantri Samagra Shahri Vikas Yojana’ (Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Urban Development Scheme), three projects worth ₹233.77 crore under the Storm Water Drainage Scheme, and the Muzaffarpur Smart City project worth ₹213.25 crore, among others. He also inaugurated the Sikandarpur Lake Front, developed at a cost of ₹225.03 crore under the Muzaffarpur Smart City project. A .22 calibre rifle firing simulator was inaugurated at the Aditya Institute of Technology and Management (AITAM) near Tekkali on Friday by Group Commander, NCC Visakhapatnam Group, Commodore Sumanth Roy. Interacting with district-level NCC cadets later, Commodore Roy said the NCC instilled discipline, leadership and a spirit of national service among youth, besides offering avenues in employment, higher education and career advancement. He explained the quota and weightage extended to holders of ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates in the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, State police departments and various government recruitments, and responded to cadets’ queries on defence careers, selection procedures and training. Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Monday inaugurated infrastructure works worth ₹40 lakh at the Zilla Parishad High School in Sunil Sharma Colony, Chinnagadili, executed under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). The works include three additional classrooms, a multipurpose hall, safety grill works, ground levelling, an RO drinking water plant shed, ceiling fans, LED lighting and other amenities aimed at providing a safer and more conducive learning environment. On Sunday (May 10) the civic body completed the first phase of this project, under which two Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) were inaugurated by Piyush Goyal — union minister and Mumbai North MP. According to the BMC data, these two STPs are set to improve the water quality by 40 times than what it was earlier. Speaking at the inauguration, Goyal said that the Dahisar river will be rejuvenated in lines of Ganga and Sabarmati rivers. “Just like Ganga, Dahisar river is also our mother.
