According to sources speaking to Reuters, they revealed that 40 people were killed in the US strikes on Saturday. India has said that recent developments in Venezuela are a matter of deep concern and that it is closely monitoring the situation following the capture of President Nicolás Maduro by US forces. Reacting to the events, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement on Sunday saying, “Recent developments in Venezuela are a matter of deep concern. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation.” The MEA said India supports the well-being and safety of the people of Venezuela and called on all sides to resolve issues peacefully through dialogue, to ensure peace and stability in the region.
